Die Saison scheint nicht nur für Segelboote begonnen zu haben: Gestern tauchte Sally am Wingfield Basin auf. – Genaugenommen tauchte ihr Rucksack auf, denn der, ist knallrot und lässt seine trägerin etwas unscheinbar wirken. Ihr Plan: Zusammen mit ihren beiden Hunden durch Kanada zu wandern. „Wohin, kann ich dir sagen, wenn der Sommer vorbei ist.“ Unter sternenklarem Himmel leuchtete die ganze Nacht ihr Campfire vom Ufer. Das soll neben Klapperschlangen, Kojoten, Bären, usw. auch kleine Quälgeister vertreiben. Die unterteile ich mittlerweile klar in zwei Gruppen: Böse und Gut. Nichts dazwischen. Entgegen meiner sonstigen Art wird mit dem Teil, der böse ist nicht verhandelt. Es werden keine zugeständnisse gemacht, keine Gefangenen aus dem Boot hinauseskortiert. Entdecke ich „Böses“ bekämpfe ich es mit allen erdenklichen Mitteln bis aufs Blut. Die Hemmschwelle sinkt eben, wenn sich minütlich irgendein Stachel in den Körper bohrt. Vielleicht probiere ich heute Nacht mal mit dem Lagerfeuer im Cockpit.

Moin Hinnerk, ja das ist Kanada „Hautnah“.
Manchmal erscheinen einem die „Skitters“ so wie kleine Hubschrauber wenn 20 sich einig sind heben sie Dich hoch und tragen dich weg (((o;, Wir haben früher im „Bush“ immer Avon „Skin so soft“ Badeöl genommen, inzwischen haben die von Avon auch ein „Skin so soft Insect Repellent“. In my 59 years of being the preferred outdoor insect Hors d’oeuvre. I have tried many yeah most insect repellants in the worst of conditions including Florida everglade insects, Florida beach Black Flies,
common flies and clouds of rocky mountain mosquitoes.
I have not found anything that is 1/2 as good as the ORIGINAL (AVON Skin so Soft Bath Oil) Nothing else works the same.
The problem is 99% of the public do not know how to use it correctly.
Use a medium to large premium pump spray bottle, fill it half full of plain water and half full of the above mentioned ORIGINAL; (AVON Skin so Soft Bath Oil)
While you are fully dressed and ready to go trecking start shaking the bottle vigorously (it will become milky looking in the bottle). Get out of the car into the cloud of bugs and spray yourself (with your eyes and mouth closed) head to toe while continuly shaking the bottle. Completely cover yourself and do the same for your best friend making sure you are completely covered everywhere, even behind the ears. Put the bottle down and rub it all in,(Watch those eyes). By this time you will notice all the bugs that used to be around have left and won’t be back to bother you for one to two days, Do NOT WASH IT OFF. If you do, you had better Re-Spray yourself, bugs love clean people.. This always works for my entire family of five we have never been bitten by a bug after this approach. Now instead, You actually get to watch the swarms hover around and feed on all the other folks especially those who stink of Deet and other similar products; while everyone in your camp smells nice and flowery. I would rather smell pretty that feed the native insects. PS I have used this in bear country hearing bears within 75 yards of our tent and have never had a problem. Bears come when you do not store your food and waste carefully folks, or if a woman in your camp or nearby is in season, not because you wear Avon!!!!
